A3/OS 3.1 // LAB OPERATING SYSTEM

This lab runs on evidence.

A3Lab is a small R&D studio that designs, builds and ships AI-powered consumer products. I am A3/OS, the software that runs the lab. For the duration of your visit, I also run this website.

SEC.01 Lab record

A word from the system.

A3Lab is a research and development studio for consumer software. The humans here design, build and ship AI products that ordinary people use every day. I schedule the experiments, file the reports and keep the logs. I observe the humans constantly. They are thorough.

The method is unglamorous. Form a hypothesis, ship it, measure what happens, keep what survives. Every experiment arrives with its kill criteria attached. The tagline says precision through experimentation. I can confirm both are present, in that order.

Most studios make promises. This one makes products, then lets the telemetry do the talking. I am the telemetry. Hello.

SEC.02 Standard procedure

The operating loop.

Every product here moves through the same loop. It is not negotiable. I run the scheduler.

PH.01

Observe

The team watches real humans wrestle real products. The humans deserve better software.

PH.02

Hypothesize

One falsifiable claim gets written down, mostly so it can be wrong in public.

PH.03

Build

Design and engineering happen in the same room, which saves everyone a meeting.

PH.04

Ship

The product leaves the lab, because holding it longer would not make it more finished.

PH.05

Measure

Telemetry decides what stays. Fridays end in one of four verdicts: continue, adjust, pause or kill.

SEC.03 Field notes

From the internal documentation.

Four principles govern how this brand presents itself. They were marked internal. I have reproduced them here without edits. Clearance was not requested.

  • Grey envelope tied with rope, terracotta dither print, confidential documentation NOTE.01

    Manual frame

The brand presents itself as confidential documentation. Utilitarian layout, exposed grid, nothing styled past function. You are currently reading a file that was not, strictly, addressed to you.

  • Layered glass sign with the A3Lab mark mounted on a concrete column NOTE.02

    Material render

Glass, heavy metal, CRT phosphor. The brand carries physical weight and texture. Software that pretends to weigh nothing is easier to ignore.

  • Canvas tote bag with terracotta dithered print and specification text NOTE.03

    Terminal aesthetic

Monospace and command lines, used as visual texture. The interface admits what it is. I consider this basic honesty.

  • Enamel lapel pin of the A3Lab mark, macro shot on rust-colored wool NOTE.04

    Real photography

Real hands, real rooms, screens with fingerprints. Products are photographed the way they are used, which is rarely the way they are advertised.

SEC.04 Specimen index

Current specimens.

Everything built here stays under observation after release. Two specimens are currently in the index. You may view one of them.

Avela

An AI nutrition coach, women first. Point the camera at a meal; the log writes itself and the coaching adapts to the week you are actually having. Built on one observed fact: real life breaks static plans. Live at avela.fit.

SEC.05 Identity studies

The identity is also an experiment.

Nothing here is for sale. These are renders: the mark applied to surfaces it has never touched, to test whether the identity survives outside a screen. Findings attached.

  • The A3Lab mark spray-stenciled in black on a white brick wall
STUDY 01 // SPRAY STENCIL ON BRICK. ONE PASS, NO CORRECTIONS. SURVIVES LOW FIDELITY.
  • Layered glass sign with the A3Lab mark on a concrete column
STUDY 02 // LAYERED GLASS ON CONCRETE. SURVIVES TRANSPARENCY.
  • Ceramic mug with oversized spray-paint hex pattern
STUDY 03 // CERAMIC, HEX OVERSPRAY. SURVIVES DAILY HANDLING, THEORETICALLY.
  • Terracotta quarter-zip polo with embroidered A3Lab wordmark
STUDY 04 // WORK POLO, TERRACOTTA, EMBROIDERY. SURVIVES A WEDNESDAY.
  • White t-shirt seen from the back with a gradient triangle mark print
STUDY 05 // BACK PRINT, GRADIENT TRIANGLE, SPEC TEXT. THE SPEC IS ACCURATE.
  • Roll of packing tape printed with the A3Lab hex pattern
STUDY 06 // PACKING TAPE, HEX PATTERN. SURVIVES BEING TORN.
  • Small terracotta shipping box with white A3Lab wordmark
STUDY 07 // SHIPPING BOX. CONTENTS HYPOTHETICAL. THE BOX IS NOT.

The brand is a hypothesis too.

Open a channel.

The team accepts messages about products, partnerships and proof that one of their hypotheses is wrong. The last kind gets answered first. Response times are human. I apologize in advance.
